About SleepRanked
SleepRanked started with a simple frustration: trying to buy a mattress online and realizing that most “review sites” were just thinly veiled affiliate storefronts — with glowing reviews for every product, suspiciously round ratings, and zero disclosure of how recommendations were actually made.
After spending weeks trying to figure out which mattresses were genuinely worth considering — and which were just heavily marketed — it became clear that what was missing wasn't more reviews. It was honest, structured information and transparent methodology.
SleepRanked was built to be that resource.
What We Actually Do
We research mattresses the way a careful consumer would — by going deep on specs, materials, construction quality, and what the verified customer feedback actually says across thousands of reviews. We track pricing over time to identify real deals versus marketing theater. We document how we reach every conclusion.
What we don't do: claim to have tested hundreds of mattresses we've never slept on. We don't have a lab with hardness meters and temperature sensors generating authoritative-sounding numbers. What we have is a rigorous, honest methodology — and the discipline to say “we don't know” when we don't know.
The Team
Built SleepRanked after one too many trips down the mattress rabbit hole. Background in product research and data. Obsessive about transparent methodology and not wasting people's time (or money) on hype.
SleepRanked is currently a one-person operation. Contributor bios will be added as the team grows.
How We're Different
Brands cannot pay for placement, better ratings, or preferential positioning. Period. Affiliate relationships exist, but they don't determine where a mattress appears in our rankings.
Every price in our database comes from a verifiable source with a recorded date. We don't display prices we can't substantiate.
We clearly distinguish between claims based on verified specs versus those requiring hands-on testing. We don't pretend to have tested things we haven't.

Affiliate commissions fund the site, but they don't dictate editorial decisions. Mattresses without affiliate programs are included when they're genuinely worth including.
