Find your best fit

Start with your buying decision

Start with these listed features, advertised feel, and seller terms, then consider how they fit your preferences. The detailed comparison below covers shared features, differences, and questions to confirm before choosing either mattress.

The literal difference: firmness tuning

Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Firm: Firm; Amerisleep firmness rating 8/10
Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Luxury Firm: Luxury Firm; Amerisleep firmness rating 7/10

Why it matters: Firm gives stomach sleepers and firm-bed shoppers the least surface sink, helping the midsection stay closer to the top of the mattress. Luxury Firm relaxes that response by one point, adding a little more room for the shoulder and hip while preserving a supportive, easy-to-move-on feel for back and combination sleepers.

Surface response

Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Firm: The flattest, least yielding AS6 surface
Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Luxury Firm: A firm, responsive surface with slightly more cushioning

Why it matters: This is the choice you will notice most. A firmer tune limits how far the hips and shoulders settle before the support system engages; a softer tune lets those areas sink farther into the comfort stack. Neither response is an upgrade by itself—the better one is the feel that keeps you comfortable without making movement feel difficult.

Cooling system

Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Firm: CryoCool cover, TitanAir titanium-infused foam, and ArcticWave cooling bands
Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Luxury Firm: The same CryoCool, TitanAir, and ArcticWave system

Why it matters: Both mattresses deliver Amerisleep's full three-part AS6 cooling package. Warm sleepers do not need to select one of these feels to unlock an extra cooling layer. Choose firmness for comfort and alignment, then judge the shared cooling system during the home trial.

Which one fits you

Our buying recommendation

Buy AS6 Firm when minimal sink and an 8/10 surface are exactly what you want, especially for stomach sleeping or a long-standing preference for very firm beds. Choose AS6 Luxury Firm for the more adaptable 7/10 feel: it keeps the same cooling stack and PrecisionCoil support while adding a little more give for back sleeping, mixed positions, and couples. The price, construction, trial, and warranty are identical, so the right choice is the firmness you can sleep on comfortably all night.

Amerisleep AS6 Firm vs Luxury Firm: The Feel Is the Difference

AS6 Firm and AS6 Luxury Firm cost the same $2,649 for a Queen and use the same 14-inch hybrid construction: CryoCool cover, TitanAir titanium-infused foam, ArcticWave cooling bands, Bio-Pur comfort foam, Affinity transition foam, a 6-inch PrecisionCoil unit, and a 1-inch BaseGuard foundation. The literal difference is how firmly the comfort layers are tuned. Choose the surface that holds your body in its most comfortable position; there is no higher-priced model to chase here.

Comfort and transition materials

Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Firm: Bio-Pur comfort foam over Affinity transition foam
Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Luxury Firm: The same Bio-Pur and Affinity material families, tuned to the other firmness

Why it matters

Both choices use the same named foams, so the decision is about how those materials are calibrated rather than one model containing a premium foam the other lacks. Select the amount of surface give you want instead of assuming a softer or firmer label means less mattress.

Coil support and height

Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Firm: 14 inches; 6-inch PrecisionCoil unit plus 1-inch BaseGuard
Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Luxury Firm: The same 14-inch profile, PrecisionCoil unit, and BaseGuard foundation

Why it matters

Both provide the same pocketed-coil support architecture, airflow space, responsive movement, and finished height. Couples and edge sleepers keep the AS6 support system with either feel, and existing sheets or foundations will fit both the same way.

Queen price and buying confidence

Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Firm: $2,649 current / $3,649 regular; 100-night Amerisleep trial; 20-year warranty
Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Luxury Firm: The same current price, regular price, direct trial, and warranty

Why it matters

Price does not break the tie. Amerisleep asks direct buyers to try the mattress for at least 30 nights, then offers free professional pickup and a full refund during the 100-night mattress trial. Another retailer's comfort guarantee controls when that seller supplies the offer, so check the seller named on the shopping button.

Who benefits from each mattress?

Use the differences above to match the mattress to the way you sleep. Each model has a clear reason to buy. When one costs less, choose it if it already delivers the feel, support, and temperature control you want. Pay more when the added material or feature gives you a benefit you expect to notice every night.

Choose Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Firm if:

Choose Firm when you sleep mainly on your stomach or already know that even luxury-firm mattresses feel too yielding.
Pick it when you want the hips to stay closest to the surface and prefer a flat, immediate support response.
Buy Firm with confidence when you want every AS6 cooling and coil feature without paying a premium; all three feels cost the same.

Choose Amerisleep AS6 Black Series Luxury Firm if:

Choose Luxury Firm when you want strong support with a little more cushioning around the shoulder and hip than Firm provides.
Pick it for back sleeping or frequent position changes when an 8/10 surface sounds unnecessarily hard.
Select Luxury Firm as the middle-ground AS6 feel for partners who both want support but do not share the same tolerance for firmness.

Published construction details and claims are from Amerisleep's current AS6 construction, firmness, price, and comfort-trial specifications. SleepRanked verified the exact AS6 feel options, shared construction, Queen prices, and direct trial terms on September 12, 2026. Cooling descriptions are Amerisleep claims. The direct trial applies when Amerisleep supplies the offer; another retailer's comfort guarantee replaces it when that retailer supplies the purchase link.

The two have the same verified current price, so price is not the deciding factor — choose on feel, firmness, and the differences called out above. Both are currently below their listed comparison prices.
