Avocado Organic 13-Inch Pillow-Top Hybrid Mattress vs Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe Cooling: What Actually Differs
Both the Avocado Organic 13-Inch Pillow-Top Hybrid Mattress and Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe Cooling are hybrid mattresses, so the real differences come down to firmness tuning, performance ratings, and price rather than construction type. Profile-wise they're almost identical — the Avocado Organic 13-Inch Pillow-Top Hybrid Mattress measures 13" and the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe Cooling measures 13.25", so neither will dictate your sheet depth or bed-frame compatibility. The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe Cooling is the firmer of the two at 6/10 (soft, medium, firm), and the Avocado Organic 13-Inch Pillow-Top Hybrid Mattress sits at 4/10 (soft) — a meaningful enough gap that sleeper position and weight should drive the choice. Avocado Organic 13-Inch Pillow-Top Hybrid Mattress
Strengths
- ✓Four inches of organic Dunlop latex in the pillow top supply a cushioned surface; Avocado separately specifies a 0.75-inch latex comfort layer
- ✓The current direct-store description specifies three support zones and an 8-inch pocketed-coil unit with 14-gauge interior and 16-gauge border coils
- ✓Manufacturer-published organic latex, organic wool and organic cotton construction is hand-tufted; material and certification claims do not establish comfort or independent performance
- ✓The exact direct Queen and King variants give shoppers a focused alternative to the Green Plush range without assuming Costco membership benefits
Considerations
- —This exact direct-store design offers Queen and King only; Green Plush serves a broader size range
- —The current direct specification lists up to 1,040 coils in King, not Queen; older Costco-source counts and gauge figures are not the current direct configuration's authority
- —The 13-inch latex-and-coil build can be cumbersome to move; confirm the selected size's current weight and arrange help instead of assuming an older Costco weight applies
Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe Cooling
Strengths
- ✓Three firmness choices
- ✓Phase-change cover and cooling foams
- ✓Zoned pocketed-coil support
Considerations
- —Optional pillow top changes the price and height
- —The cool-to-the-touch surface does not guarantee a cool night for every sleeper
