Helix Midnight Elite vs Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium Hybrid: What Actually Differs
Both the Helix Midnight Elite and Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium Hybrid are hybrid mattresses, so the real differences come down to firmness tuning, performance ratings, and price rather than construction type. The Helix Midnight Elite stands 15" tall versus 12" for the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium Hybrid — a 3.0" gap that matters if you need deep-pocket sheets or are pairing with an adjustable base. Both sit at roughly 6/10 on the firmness scale — a medium-firm feel — so neither one is the answer if you need a dramatically different support level. The single largest performance gap is in cooling: the Helix Midnight Elite rates noticeably higher than the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium Hybrid, which is the deciding factor if that dimension is high on your list. The linked-seller trial periods aren't symmetrical either: the Helix Midnight Elite is listed with 120 nights at Helix; 30-night minimum; no return fee, versus 90 nights at Tempur-Pedic; 30-night minimum; return shipping deducted for the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium Hybrid.

Helix Midnight Elite
Strengths
- ✓120-night direct-purchase trial
- ✓Limited lifetime warranty
- ✓GlacioTex Elite cooling cover included
Considerations
- —Current sale price can change
- —Seller trial terms depend on the linked retailer
- —Optional CoolForce layer costs extra
Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium Hybrid
Strengths
- ✓Five centimeters of ventilated TEMPUR material over 5 cm of Advanced Relief material preserves a substantial contouring layer above the coils
- ✓More than 1,000 premium coils add a responsive surface, a more usable edge, and easier position changes
- ✓The removable washable cool-to-the-touch cover makes routine care easier
- ✓Best fit for combination sleepers and couples who want TEMPUR contouring without the deepest all-foam sink
Considerations
- —The coil system adds bounce, so the all-foam ProAdapt Medium remains the better fit when the slowest feel and strongest motion damping are the priorities
- —Adapt Medium Hybrid is the better value when its medium feel, coil bounce, and edge support are enough and you do not need the Advanced Relief layer or washable cover
- —This is a medium feel rather than a plush hybrid; shoppers seeking deeper surface give should compare LuxeAdapt Soft or another softer model
