Current AS1 decision guide
Amerisleep now sells AS1 on a separate /as1.html product page. Its older /as1-mattress.html address still redirects to AS2, which made AS1 look discontinued during an earlier audit. The live AS1 is a distinct 10-inch Firm mattress; it is not an AS2 alias.
Top 2 inches
Two inches gives the body less room to sink than the deeper comfort stacks in softer Amerisleep models. That is the practical reason AS1 stays flatter under the hips. Amerisleep describes Bio-Pur as open-cell and responsive; SleepRanked has not independently measured cooling or rebound.
Bottom 8 inches
The base supplies most of the mattress height and resistance. There is no HIVE zoned transition layer, coil unit, or separate edge reinforcement, so the buying case is simple support and lower price rather than targeted cushioning or hybrid bounce.

Trial, warranty, and certification scope
Eligible direct mattress purchases receive a 100-night trial, and Amerisleep asks for a 30-night adjustment period. The checked warranty replaces a covered defective mattress during years 1–10, then changes to prorated replacement during years 11–20. Its example defect threshold includes sagging greater than 1.5 inches.
Amerisleep says the Bio-Pur foam is CertiPUR-US certified and low in VOCs. That certification applies to the foam's emissions and restricted-substance criteria; it does not make the complete mattress organic.
