Need Help Deciding?
For most sleepers, we recommend the Essentia Grateful Eight Organic Latex Mattress over the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium. Our catalog rates it higher for edge support; check current linked-seller prices and terms before deciding on value. The Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium is the better choice only if you have a strong preference for that brand's specific feel or design.
Essentia Grateful Eight Organic Latex Mattress vs Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium: What Actually Differs
Both the Essentia Grateful Eight Organic Latex Mattress and Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium are foam mattresses, so the real differences come down to firmness tuning, performance ratings, and price rather than construction type. The Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium stands 12" tall versus 8" for the Essentia Grateful Eight Organic Latex Mattress — a 4.0" gap that matters if you need deep-pocket sheets or are pairing with an adjustable base. Their firmness is close but not identical: the Essentia Grateful Eight Organic Latex Mattress is 5.5/10 and the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium is 6/10. Both land near a medium-firm feel, so the half-point difference is less decisive than their construction and pressure response. The single largest performance gap is in edge support: the Essentia Grateful Eight Organic Latex Mattress rates noticeably higher than the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium, which is the deciding factor if that dimension is high on your list. The linked-seller trial periods aren't symmetrical either: the Essentia Grateful Eight Organic Latex Mattress is listed with Product page says 120 nights; verify Grateful Eight eligibility, versus 90 nights at Tempur-Pedic; 30-night minimum; return shipping deducted for the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium.

Essentia Grateful Eight Organic Latex Mattress
Strengths
- ✓The disclosed 5-inch support core plus 3-inch transition-and-comfort package explains exactly what fills the low 8-inch profile instead of relying on a generic all-latex description
- ✓Its fixed medium surface is the simpler choice for shoppers who do not want to flip Venti between soft and firm sides
- ✓The build contains no springs, polyurethane foam, fiber batting, or wool; GOLS applies to the organic latex and GOTS applies to the removable organic-cotton cover
- ✓Every standard size from Twin through King was available in the live base configuration on September 25, while the daily price card remains the current availability authority
Considerations
- —Essentia's comparison table shows a $3,399 Queen MSRP while its live exact standard Queen variant is $3,199, so shoppers should rely on the live variant price and checkout
- —The product page advertises a 120-night trial, but Essentia's general eligible-model list currently omits Grateful Eight; confirm eligibility in writing before ordering
- —The optional EMF foam costs $800 more in Queen, and the claimed benefit is a manufacturer statement rather than an independently verified SleepRanked finding
Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium
Strengths
- ✓Five centimeters of Advanced Relief Material gives shoulders and hips a deeper pressure-relief layer
- ✓Ventilation through the upper TEMPUR layer adds an airflow path through the foam closest to the sleeper
- ✓Removable washable cool-to-the-touch cover makes routine care easier
- ✓Stronger fit for side sleepers, warm sleepers who still want all foam, and shoppers who feel pressure in a shallower comfort stack
Considerations
- —Costs about $1,000 more than Adapt Medium at the currently recorded Queen offers
- —Still has the slow all-foam TEMPUR response; choose a hybrid when easier movement is the priority
- —The up-to-20%-more-pressure-relief statement is Tempur-Pedic's pressure-mapping claim
