Start with these listed features, advertised feel, and seller terms, then consider how they fit your preferences. The detailed comparison below covers shared features, differences, and questions to confirm before choosing either mattress.
Why it matters: Both covers can be removed for cleaning. ProBreeze adds cooling fibers intended to draw heat away as soon as you lie down, so this is a thermal upgrade rather than an added maintenance benefit.
Why it matters: This ProBreeze-only layer is designed to absorb excess heat throughout the night. Tempur-Pedic does not publish its thickness, so we do not count it toward the 9 cm named foam comparison.
Why it matters: The ProAdapt layer uses ventilation for airflow. ProBreeze replaces it with a cooling-specific material that Tempur-Pedic says pulls heat away from the body through the night. The disclosed thickness stays the same.

ProAdapt Medium is the stronger value for sleepers who do not have a persistent heat problem: it keeps the same profile, named foam depth, Advanced Relief family, washable cover, trial, and warranty. ProBreeze Medium earns its premium for a specific shopper—the person who regularly sleeps hot enough to value its four-part cooling system. The extra money is difficult to justify for pressure relief alone because the published foam stack is not thicker.
These mattresses have the same Medium feel, 12-inch profile, and 9 cm across their two disclosed foam layers. ProBreeze does not add a thicker comfort stack. Its premium buys a cooling system: a SmartClimate cover, a separate heat-diffusing layer, heat-pulling Pure Cool Material, and ventilation added to the Advanced Relief layer.
Why it matters
Both use the same named pressure-relief family at the same disclosed thickness. ProBreeze adds ventilation to increase airflow, so the upgrade targets temperature management rather than adding more pressure-relieving foam.
Why it matters
The ProBreeze premium does not buy a deeper disclosed TEMPUR comfort stack. Shoppers satisfied with ProAdapt's temperature performance receive the same published foam depth for less.
Why it matters
The temperature figure is a Tempur-Pedic comparison claim based on controlled heat-index testing, not a promise that every sleeper will feel exactly five degrees cooler. Room temperature, bedding, body heat, and bed partners can change the result.
Why it matters
The higher price does not buy a taller profile, a different named firmness, coils, a longer direct trial, or a longer warranty. The reason to upgrade is sustained cooling technology.
Use the differences above to match the mattress to the way you sleep. Each model has a clear reason to buy. When one costs less, choose it if it already delivers the feel, support, and temperature control you want. Pay more when the added material or feature gives you a benefit you expect to notice every night.
Published construction details and claims are from Tempur-Pedic's current Breeze and Adapt collection specifications. SleepRanked translates the published specifications into shopper guidance; the brand's controlled heat-index claim is not presented as independent testing or an individual-result guarantee.
