GOTS is a textile processing standard that covers certified organic fibers, restricted chemical inputs, environmental requirements, and social criteria across the textile supply chain. For a mattress, the certificate scope may cover a textile component or the finished mattress, so the exact listing matters.
What is the difference between GOTS Organic and Made with organic materials?
Under GOTS 8.0, the Organic label grade requires at least 95% certified organic fibers, excluding accessories. The Made with x% organic materials grade requires at least 70%. The label grade does not replace the need to check the named product and certificate scope.
Does GOTS certify mattress latex?
No. GOTS covers textiles. Organic natural-rubber latex is addressed separately by GOLS. A mattress that uses organic cotton, wool, and latex may therefore publish both GOTS and GOLS credentials.
Does GOTS mean the whole mattress is organic?
